About us

Todd and Lorraine founded Swanson Mountain Fitness in 2019 intending to create a safe and comfortable place for everyBODY.

We are a class-based facility offering 30+ classes per week. Our classes include (but are not limited to): Yoga, Pilates, Strength and Conditioning, Endurance, and Soft Start.
We specialize in Kettlebell Sport, OCR (Obstacle Course Race) Conditioning, and Teen Athlete Training.
We can also offer Personal Training when availability allows.

We can accommodate all ranges of fitness levels from beginners to athletes and provide safe modifications for those working with limitations or recovering from injuries.

We are proud to be the home of The North Okanagan Kettlebell Open and part of both the Canadian Kettlebell Alliance (CKA) and Kettlebell Sport World League/ International Kettlebell Organization (IKO)

We have two floors, our downstairs (SMF Cave) is where all of our fitness/strength sessions occur. Our upper level (SMF Studio) is 2000 sq ft of newly renovated Studio space, perfect for our Yoga and Pilates sessions.

Our Studio space is also available for rent upon application, for single use (2-8 hrs), or on a regular, weekly/monthly basis.

Meet the coaches

Lorraine Painchaud: Co-Owner & Head Coach

Lorraine discovered her passion for fitness in her 20s, beginning with Yoga and Pilates. Over the years, her love for movement evolved into a deep appreciation for functional fitness and the incredible capabilities of the human body. Her journey has been marked by diverse accomplishments, including competitive obstacle course racing (OCR), where she achieved podium finishes and qualified for the OCR World Championships.

Currently, her training focus is on Kettlebell Sport.  She has competed for 6 years earning CMS ranking in both 16kg Long Cycle and Snatch. She is proud to have represented Team Canada at the IUKL Worlds in Greece 2024 bringing home 3 golds and a silver medal. She is hoping to qualify for Team Canada again in 2025

As a dedicated coach, Lorraine thrives on helping others unlock their potential. She has a special passion for working with teens, whether it’s teaching them the fundamentals of training or guiding them to excel in their chosen sports. Her extensive qualifications include certifications as a Personal Trainer, Sports Performance Specialist, Fitness Nutrition Specialist, and she is currently completing a Youth Fitness Specialist Program.

Lorraine’s commitment to fitness and education shines through in everything she does, inspiring those around her to discover their own strength and capabilities.

Todd Schweb: Co-Owner & Head Coach

Todd has been involved in sports and fitness most of his life.  Anyone who knows him knows he is an avid Kettlebell lifter.  He has competed worldwide with Team Canada and holds the Canadian record in 24kg and 28kg Biathlon for his weight class. He has an extensive list of achievements in Kettlebell sport, including bringing home gold for 24kg Biathlon in Ireland in 2019 and Greece in 2024.

Todd specializes in teaching Kettlebell Sport and Functional Fitness.

Natalie Sinnott: Coach

Natalie is passionate about fitness and helping others to reach success in their own fitness journey.  She relates to those who may feel ‘out of their element’ having once been there herself.

She has competed in both Spartan OCRs (Obstacle Course Race), and other endurance events, as well as Kettlebell Sport earning Rank 1 in 8 kg Biathlon and Snatch. In 2022, she qualified to lift with Team Canada.

Natalie has her Group Fitness Certification through ACE and is currently working towards becoming a Functional Training Specialist through ACE.

Natalie’s philosophy “There are no shortcuts to success. Push hard, be consistent, do the work”.

 

 

 

Amy-Rae Cuzzetto: Coach 

Amy grew up playing competitive sports such as lacrosse, basketball, and hockey.  Her passion for sport grew into coaching lacrosse to children for a number of years before moving on to university. From 13-15 Amy represented Team BC at the Women’s Lacrosse Nationals and for three years in a row, she managed to take home a bronze, a silver, and a gold medal. 
She is passionate about helping people reach their health goals (including nutrition, mental health, and fitness) and overcome any physical ailments they may endure. She graduated from UBCO in June 2021 with a BHK (Bachelors in Human Kinetics), where she doubled majored in ‘Clinical Exercise Physiology‘ and ‘Health Promotion‘ and minored in Psychology.  Also, being passionate about nutrition, in December 2021 she became Certified Nutritionist through ISSA.
When she’s not at the gym, you can find me up in the bush enjoying dirt biking, hunting, and camping or on the lake fishing!
